The costume design for the star of the Von Sternberg classic film starring Emil Jannings (1884-1950) who won the first Best Actor Academy Award for this role. It bears the signature of designer Emile Santiago (1899-1995) (AA Winner for THE ROBE) who specialized in male period wardrobe and a stamp from Western Costume Company. Per Rottentomatoes:

Josef vonSternberg's The Last Command was inspired by the true story of General Lodijenski, a Russian aristocrat who arrived penniless in the US after the 1917 Revolution and who supported himself by playing movie bit parts and managing a Russian restaurant.
