Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Cardassian Tricorder

Unusual tricorder design, as used by Dukat in fourth season episode Indiscretion (held in one orientation), and by another Cardassian in series finale What You Leave Behind (held in the inverse orientation). 

Painted resin, with applied decals, and multiple LEDs activated by a small switch in the thumbhole. 

Although auctioned as an original prop from DS9, this is not the actual prop seen in either episode.  Trek propmaker Mike Moore has confirmed that this piece was made for production at a later date after the fourth season hero was built. Inadequate authentication is a serious problem with many prop/costume auctioneers, who exact hefty commissions from bidders without delivering on their implicit responsibility to properly vet the items they're selling.
