Severance, Bear Trap

This is a Bear Trap used in the iconic scene when Gordon (played by Andy Nyman) gets his leg severed off when walking outiside near the cabin in which they are staying. This bear trap is oversized so it "closes" at the knee rather than ankle. It was an animatronic prop built from scratch by Richard Darwin who worked on props and fx for the film. The item doesn't come with any of the cabling but does have two sets of jaws, one fashioned completely from metal and the other with "foam" spikes. Some of these are no longer present following production use. Please note this item is not for sale. Thanks
