Hellboy battles the infamous Russian witch Baba Yaga and her minions on many occasions. In Darkness Calls, she throws everything she has at Big Red, but failing to destroy him and severely weakened herself, eventually as a last desperate measure she starts to open an acorn that holds a crumb of the evil monk Rasputin's soul. However her previously obedient assistant Koku revolts, grabs the acorn and tosses it into Hell, saying only 'Not him.'
