Bicentennial Man, Andrew's Hand and Cut-off Finger

original movie prop

Two hundred years in the life of an extraordinary robot are chronicled when the Martin family purchases an android named Andrew (Robin Williams) to perform menial household tasks. Before long, the humans (Sam Neill and Embeth Davidtz) realize they may be rubbing off on their domestic servant as Andrew, astonishingly, begins to experience human feelings and creative thought. His travels take him to Rupert Burns (Oliver Platt) and Galatea (Kiersten Warren) where he gradually transforms more and more into a human.

This is Andrew's (Robin Williams) special effects hand and cut-off finger. It is filled with some type of material to make the whole hand solid, so the fingers do not move. We have not attempted to hook up the wiring to see if the end of the cut-off finger lights up. This hand was used in the scene when he accidentally cuts his finger off while using the saw because Little Miss walks into the room.
