Standard issue sidearm of all Commonwealth officers, the simple appearance of the force lance belies its extremely sophisticated functions.  Capable of telescoping from 1' to 6' in length, this DNA-encrypted weapon will both fire plasma bursts and launch effectors: miniature target-seeking attack drones with offensive and defensive capabilities. In extended melee mode, the force lance can deliver crippling taser shocks to one opponent or a group of opponents simultaneously.  It can be used as a stationary autofire turret, and as a last resort, a devastating plasma grenade.
