James Bond: Spectre, 007's Aston Martin DB10
replica model / miniature
The Hotwheels Elite Cult Classic's collection proudly presents James Bond's Aston Martin DB10 as seen in the hit film Spectre.
At the begining of the film Bond leads a daring chase through the streets of Mexico City pursuing a man he believes is connected to a global criminal enterprise. After killing the man in Mexico and creating chaos during the Day of the Dead festival, Bond is put on temporary suspension. Despite this Bond continues his investigatation into the mysterious organization with his only lead, a ring with an octopus on it. As Bond is on suspension he is forbidden from leaving the United Kingdom and as his classic Aston Martin DB5 is in the shop, Bond steals MI6's prototype Aston Martin DB10. Bond follows his only lead to Rome where he attends the funneral of the man he killed in Mexico. Bond meets with the widow who informs him of a meeting of the mysterious organization. Bond attends the meeting and discovers that the organization he is investigating is much larger than he initially thought, and after he is discovered at the meeting Bond takes off and jumps into his Aston Martin DB10. A henchman pursues Bond in a prototype Jaguar C-X75. Bond attempts to make use of the DB10's anti pursuit counter measures but as it was not completely outfitted yet most of it's gadgets were not yet loaded. Bond makes use of the DB10's rear flamethrower and before crashing it into a river he uses it's ejector seat.
The actual Aston Matin DB10 was made exclusively for use in the film Spectre and only 10 were built. 8 were used in the film, 2 were made to be show cars, one of which was auctioned off for £2.4 million. The vehicle was meant to display what Aston Martin is planning in terms of design for the future, so its somewhat of a concept car.
This model unfortunately does not feature any of the gadgets seen in the film but it does feature a detailed intertior complete with the gadget panel. It features opening doors, trunk, hood with a detailed Aston Martin V8 engine, and a hood ornament with "Aston Martin" in tiny print. What's also a very nice detail is that Hotwheels included a tool to open the doors, trunk, and hood, as the doors have windows that are in the closed position. This is a really nice touch considering that the DB5, which has more little bits, did not come with the same tool.
