Mortal Kombat: Legacy is an American web series anthology adaptation of the fictional universe of the Mortal Kombat video game franchise that debuted on Machinima.com's YouTube channel on April 11, 2011.
The show's premise originated with director Kevin Tancharoen's short film entitled Mortal Kombat: Rebirth, which portrayed the original game's story in a realistic way. Seeking the green-light from the studio for production on a re-imagined Mortal Kombat film. He eventually submitted the concept to Warner Bros., which declined to back the film, despite the attention and positive fan reception. However, Tancharoen did receive the go-ahead to shoot the web series.
Mortal Kombat: Legacy takes place before the events of the original game and tells the background stories of several characters from the franchise, culminating in their reasons for participating in the upcoming tenth Mortal Kombat tournament, on which the first game was based. The episodes in the anthology web series are non-linear with minimal continuity, and each devoted to the story of a specific character or characters. (courtesy Wikipedia)
What I have here is a set of screen used ninja boots used by the actress Samantha Jo, sometimes listed as Samantha Tjhia, whom played the character "Kitana" in episodes 4 & 5 "Kitanna & Milenna". These boots were purchased directly from a very reliable seller through Ebay, Classy Crew Collectibles, whom has sold various other props and wardrobe through set sells in the British Columbia (Vancouver) area which was were season 1 was filmed. The boots themselves appear to be a size 7 but are not distinctly marked as such. However on the inside of each boot it is clearly maked by the wardrobe department the name of the character in which the actress played which shows "Kitana" in bold blue ink. There appears to be electrical tape taped around the boots where the actress's toes would be. This has not been confirmed as to why the tape is placed there, but I'm assuming it was for the choreographed fight scenes for possible padding for the toes or even perhaps that the boots might have started falling apart, considering the web series was filmed on a shoe string budget. The inside of the boots have little metal tabs that had distinct chinese characters on each tab with the good ol' fashioned ever reliable "made in China" stamp on the bottom of the boot. The boots themselves appear very heavily distressed from screen use with various parts of the boots ladin with dirt. In speaking with a fellow collector, the tape on the boots is attatched to small square pieces of black sand paper, where more than likely was used for traction purposes so that the actress wouldn't slip or fall considering the amount of coreographed fighting involved in the filming of the two episodes.
Accompanied with the boots was a COA issued from the seller, Sunnywebbles stating that the boots were purchased as part of a set decoration sale from the Mortal Kombat Legacy series, with a certificate numbered #10751, dated January 7th, 2013 and signed by the owner.
