Jaws (1975), World's Largest Orca Replica over 52 inches

World's Largest Orca Replica over 52 inches
This is a model that was created with the help of Jesse Thompson. According to Operationorca it is the largest ORCA model in existence. It's a bit over 52.5" long. It was based on years of research and data taken from the full scale boat (ORCA I) which was at Universal Studios/Hollywood until it rotted to pieces in 1996. According to reports, it broke in half while being lifted from the lake it had sat in since 1976, due to moisture degradation of the unpreserved wooden hull (idiots!). This ORCA was built in the same manner as the full scale boat with plank on plank construction. It took us hundreds of hours to get all the details right. Jaws is my favorite movie of all time and to me the ORCA was the main star of the film. She contains actual items from the film and will hopefully last much longer than the original Orca I and II! For more info on our ORCA Check YOUTUBE: R2hammer I wish that I could add more shots! Thanks, Scott K Boothby

World's Largest Orca Replica over 52 inches
Interior cabin details. Down to the paper, charts, spoons, beer cans, lights, food, fire extinguisher, table, etc... We studied the film for Hundreds of hours to make every detail perfect. In certain pics it's hard to tell if it's a movie shot or an interior pic of our model. It's never going to be perfect, but she's close! In the bridge deck box is an actual piece of the original Orca II (2"x1") courtesy of Lynn Murphy/ Jesse Thompson Inside the hull is wood (3 large slabs) from the Spielberg cabin "The hangout" during the filming of Jaws! It was inside this very cabin that Quint (Robert Shaw) crafted the famous USS Indianapolis story. It was torn down in 2005 just prior to construction of our Replica Orca. Jesse began construction on this one in early 2006. I bought it 50% completed in the Summer of 2006. It was damaged during shipping and I finished it March 1, 2007, but reworked many details in 2009.
