Stargate SG-1, WORKING NAQUADAH REACTOR

In Season 3 learning curve O’Neill, Daniel and Teal’c travel to the planet Orban
where they encounter some extremely smart children. One young girl named
Merrin has built a Naquadah Reactor and agrees to return to Earth to teach
Sam how to build a similar unit. This fantastic working ‘hero’ prop is highly
featured in this episode. Measuring 12" x 6" x 6", hand painted in a variety of
dark metal tone colours and features some unusual alien designs on all six
multiple level panels. One side panel is removable and it conceals the inner
workings of the reactor and the hidden switch that turns it on! When removed,
the second layer of intricate markings is visible and beneath that is what appears
to be a clear acrylic box. Within the box is the actual silver coloured reactor and
when it is switched on, it glows neon blue – this is clearly seen on screen when
Sam has the reactor working in her office. This is yet another ‘work-of-art’ by the
Stargate prop department.
