Star Trek: First Contact, Type 3A Phaser Rifle

replica movie prop

One of several new phaser rifle design variants first encountered as the Enterprise crew battle the Borg in Star Trek: First Contact, this square-barreled style is only found in a few select scenes. These scenes were reportedly shot first, with the weapon modified and replaced in subsequently filmed scenes by the black round-barrel style present throughout most of the movie (including all instances where a phaser rifle is shown being fired.)

Full-size painted resin replica, with retractable nylon shoulder strap.

Trigger press activates 1000 mW red laser, barrel LED, and variable firing sound.  At higher power levels, firing continues as long as the trigger is depressed.

Power up and power down buttons, with unique activation sounds, and overload mode.

Magnetically latched polished aluminum power chamber cover with illuminating power cells.

Magnetically latched illuminating Borg frequency modulator ('Picard device'); removing the module deactivates the weapon with power-down sound, and reinstalling it generates a confirmatory system reactivation sound and 'Installation complete' audio.

Separately powered scope module with active LCD video targetting display and target-illuminating flashlight. Video loop for the targetting simulation is contained on a removable microSD card.

Two rechargable lithium batteries power all systems except for the coin-battery operated Picard device.
