miscellaneous productions, Studio Badges and Pins
original production material
An assortment of studio security, police, guild, union, theater and vendor badges, pins and assorted articles tracing the history of film making. Extreme rarities are pioneers Thomas Ince, Gaumont, Tiffany-Stahl, Columbia, Pathe, DeMille, WB, Selznick International and Fox News (silent newsreels). Later ones are Myerberg (the first animation studio in NYC) and Ron Pierce's Lifetime Universal badge.
Additional highlights are numerous MGM badges and pins, including pre-merged Goldwyn and Metro, Powers Cinephone (ripped off from De Forest's patented sound on film process used by DISNEY) and a near complete set of badges showing the various owners of Culver City's 40 Acre Lot: Ince, FBO, DeMille, Pathe, RKO, RKO-Pathe, Selznick and Paramount - Desilu being the missing link. Of particular interest is the bronze Pathe Freres Rooster, perched atop three reels of film mascot, which may be unique.
