The GDO, which stands for ‘Garage Door Opener’, is the common name given to the remote transmitter
worn on the wrist of each SG member while off-world. It is used for security purposes to send a specific
iris deactivation code, or ID, that signals the SGC to open the iris and allow for incoming travelers. Each
SG team has a unique remote access code and transmitters with special codes have been given to allies
such as Bra’tac and the Tok’ra.
