Anti-personnel energy weapon carried by the Jaffa, genetically engineered humans enslaved and used as both soldiers and larval incubators by the parasitic, megalomaniacal Goa'uld. Shaped vaguely like a Goa'uld symbiote, a Jaffa staff fires a plasma burst that can kill or blast through solid objects. It can also be used effectively as a melee weapon. It's main advantage, however, is in producing fear and intimidation; as a practical weapon, it is unwieldy, and is limited by short range and low rate of fire.
